A few skills are recognised as exceptionally important by the EU for all of our students: familiarity with languages, proficiency in using new technologies as well as entrepreneurial skills.

- Minister Verbić

On Wednesday 3 December 2014 we signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Science, Education and Technological Development in the areas of improving quality of education in the Republic of Serbia, development of English language teaching and capacity building of teaching and non-teaching staff. Through this document, the two institutions are clearly demonstrating their willingness to further improve and support the international collaboration between the UK and Serbia in the area of education.

According to the Memorandum, the Ministry officially accredited our programmes for professional development and allowed teachers, educators and associates in the educational sector to register the appropriate number of points defined for each programme individually, with the purpose of professional development and career advancement. These programmes are not solely focused on the areas of teaching and learning English, but also on inclusive education and use of new technologies in education.

Furthermore, the Ministry officially recognises our international certificates of English as teacher qualifications for English language teaching in the first cycle of primary education for persons with adequate degrees who are not teachers of English - provided that they meet the Ministry’s requirements in relation to the degree and type of education for teachers and professional associates in primary schools.

By signing this Memorandum with the Ministry, we have formally defined our mutual co-operation until the end of 2016.

Should you need additional information about the Memorandum, please get in touch with our Senior Education Advisor Ivana Aleksić.
