When will I know the results of speaker selection?

The results of the selection will be sent electronically to each applicant by 1 December 2016, to an e-mail address submitted in the application form.

What are the main criteria when selecting a presentation?

The main criteria for selecting presentations are:

  • topic(s) relevance/compliance with the aims of the conference
  • pedagogical aspect of proposed topics
  • that your proposed topic is good example of using ICT in education
  • positive impact on students’ results
  • long term and sustainability of proposed solutions
  • opportunity for further development of the idea
  • proposed topic should not have commercial character/background 
  • topic wasn’t presented at the conference ‘New Technologies in Education’.

Who is responsible for selecting the presentations?

All submitted presentations will be evaluated by a team of experts consisting of the representatives from the British Council, British Embassy in Belgrade, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit and Centre for the Promotion of Science.

How long will the presentations last?

All chosen presenters will have 15 minutes for their presentation which includes the Q&A session.

If my presentation is selected, will I be paid?

Since participation in the conference is free of charge we are not in position to financially support your presentation. On the other hand, we will provide you with free public speaking training which can be helpful in your future work.

Will I receive a refund for my travel costs?

To all selected presenters that don’t live in Belgrade, the British Council will enable a travel expenses refund on several terms. The entire travel expense can be covered only if you provide a two-way ticket (bus or train). If the provided ticket is one-way, we will not be able to cover expenses for the return unless you provide us with the other ticket during your stay at the conference. If you decide to come by your own transportation, you will be provided with a refund of the amount equal to the price of a bus ticket from the town you came from.

Is the conference accredited?

The conference is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and certificate of attendance will be sent electronically to the e-mail address you submitted in the application form.
