For the fifth year in a row, the conference and fair "New Technologies in Education 2018"  brought together some of the best teachers in the field of using ICT in their classrooms, making this event better year after year.

Over the past years, we had the opportunity to meet over 200 speakers from the Western Balkans, UK and other countries who shared their experiences in the use of educational technologies through lectures, panel discussions and workshops. We firmly believe that this year's program will be the highest quality so far.

Gordana Stokovic

Gordana Stoković

BIOGRAPHY

Gordana is a teacher that helps future educators and teachers to develop and improve their digital competencies. She worked in several Belgrade schools and at the Evaluation Institute, and is currently a teaching assistant at the Teacher Training Faculty. She is the author of a number of papers in the field of educational technology, participant of TIMSS research, expert translator and origami lover. Scientix ambassador and Plato teacher.

Educational potentials of the QR Code and Zap Code 

By using QR codes and expanded reality in teaching, the content on paper receives a new dimension. Zap code, as a combination of the benefits of QR codes and extended reality, creates a stimulating learning environment and aids development of advanced digital competencies in teachers and students. Using new technologies in teaching students will make their knowledge more fundamental and lasting.

Gordana Velikić

Gordana Velikić

BIOGRAPHY

Dr Gordana Velikić was born in Novi Sad, and she acquired her doctorate on the University of Rochester, USA. She was a deputy director at the Centre For Future Health on the same University. She was an organizer of many conferences and she was using modern technology during lectures. At this time she is responsible for scientific programmes in RT-RK and is in charge of projects which shape today’s technology.

When industry takes the academy in a fast track

A breach of consumer technologies into automobile industry has opened a door to new engineering profiles. However, those profiles did not exist in the classical education system. This is a story of how the Academy had to be fast and flexible in order to respond to quick changes in the industry.

Gorica is STEM ambassador for Serbia. Member of the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Belgrade Teachers' Association. Coordinator for Erasmus+ projects. A distinguished teacher of Microsoft Serbia 2014, an implementer of Hour of code for over 400 students from 1-4. grade two years in a row. Project holder Microsoft Mentor School, participant of Microsoft Global Forum, Barcelona. Administrator of Facebook page Programming is easy, everyone can learn it.

It is said that Estonia is today's technological leader, and that it has turned into a country of the digital future. What was the turning point in Estonian schools? This topic will be presented by teachers who visited Estonia and had the opportunity to personally verify these details.

 

Hano Uzeirbegović

Hano Uzeirbegović

BIOGRAPHY

He has finished Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in University of Zagreb. From 2003 he works as history and geography teacher. He finished several courses that are connected with ICT. (e-learning academy in CARNet, WebCT- course,ISE MOOC. I held several lectures about gamification in education). Participated in several educational and ICT fairs, like Scientific fair (2017) and Infogamer (2017).

Virtual History

We focus on usage of modern technology in education like, mobile phones, VR -AR glasses, 3D printers, 3D pens. The goal is to promote usage of ICT technologies in teaching of humanistic and social studies.and gamification of education Students are using VR glasses they create historical buildings in Minecraft and play history games like Mummy maker and World of tanks, research for 3D artifacts.

Irina Damnjanović

BIOGRAPHY

She graduated biology in Belgrade. An author of award-winning children's books from popular science. A pioneer of flipped teaching and author of a YouTube channel with video lessons from biology. Microsoft Innovative Expert Educator, associate at the MARCH project, Edmodo Coach, Core Skills Trainer for the British Council on the 21st Century School Project, a WWF consultant on the development of educational programs in protected areas.

Moodle mix – Integration of chemistry and science

The hybrid Moodle course integrates chemistry and science. The times of these two subjects were related to one another. Students had the opportunity to use digital resources in a scale with their own pace and learning needs. Animations, simulations, and extended reality used as working material for performing tasks that lead to the formation of abstract scientific concepts.

Ivan Stojanovic

Ivan Stojanović

BIOGRAPHY

Teacher of physics at SS "Sveti Sava" in Kladovo since 2008. From 2010 to date, organized five physics events in Kladovo, as well as the Republic Secondary School Competition in 2017. Lecturer and organizer of the workshop at three Republic seminars on teaching physics. Participant of two CERN programs for secondary school teachers, 2016. Lecturer at the BC conference, 2018.

Plato, teaching of the future

Plato is a two-year European project launched in 2016 with the aim to enable and prepare primary and secondary school teachers for new educational challenges. Plato primarily promotes actively oriented teaching, a holistic interdisciplinary approach to learning, the use of online learning tools, and meaningful collaboration among teachers of different subjects in the same school.

 

Ivana Bankovic

Ivana Banković

BIOGRAPHY

Ivana Banković has eight years of practical teaching experience, as an English language teacher. She was a trainer for several programs of professional development, presented at several international conferences and published authorial works on the topic of education. She is currently working as a young project advisor at the Tempus Foundation and is in charge of the implementation of eTwinning and Erasmus + projects for schools in Serbia.

Improving teaching through eTwinning projects

eTwinning is a platform that allows schools and pre-school institutions across Europe to collaborate. Project teaching organized through eTwinning projects has the effect of raising the level of digital competencies of teachers and educators, improving the quality of teaching in schools and preschool institutions through the use of ICT tools in working with students and improving interpersonal competences among students.

Ivana Kovacevic

BIOGRAPHY

She graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade, works in the school for students in hospital and home care, she is the leader of national trainings and workshops at ICT seminars, winners of awards, participants in projects for equal participation of students in the educational process, educational site administrator and platform.

Virtual excursions and literary section 

With the arrival of new technologies possibility of having virtual excursions, in addition to real excursions, presented itself. Places that would be hard or impossible to visit are now accessible. For students in hospital and home care, this type of excursion is the only way to "travel" and socialize with peers. These excursions can be followed by reports, essays, etc. at the meetings of the literary section.

Jehona Gjurgjeala

Jehona Gjurgjeala

BIOGRAPHY

Jehona spent 15 years studying and working in the UK and Denmark. Her passion is experiential education and service learning, which she developed collaborating with the Girls Scouts USA. In 2015, she established start up TOKA – an organisation that aims to improve society by investing in the education of its youth. To date, TOKA worked with over 10,000 youth, 220 teachers and 45 schools across Kosovo.

Facilitation vs teaching – techniques for more effective learning

Teaching is a lonely job. Often one teacher is in front of 30 students which makes it nearly impossible to effectively teach them. Or maybe not? This session will outline facilitation techniques that result in greater engagement of students, and deeper learning. Topics covered include student energy management, collective learning and the importance of fun - with practical examples that teachers can start using after the conference.

BIOGRAPHY

She works at a school for children with disabilities since 1996 as speech therapist. She participated in many projects in the field of social inclusion of children with special needs. She is the leader of the Team for the application of assistive technologies at school. She is the author of an application intended for children with communication difficulties, "Lako s Markom".

Application for children with communication difficulties

The application "Lako s Markom" is intended for children with communication problems such as autism, developmental dysphasia, aphasia and cerebral palsy. It can also be used for children of typical development, where it is necessary to stimulate the development of communication from the earliest age. The purpose of this application is to enable children to understand and navigate in everyday situations and stimulate the development of communication with the environment.
