We had the honour to participate in Exploring the New Frontiers of ELT, English Language Teachers' Association conference held at the Faculty of Education in Belgrade in May.

Mr. Edward Ferguson, the British Ambassador to Serbia, and Ms. Clare Sears, the Director of the British Council for the Western Balkans, opened the event with powerful remarks. Distinguished speakers included Elizabeth Allen, Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs from the U.S. Department of State, and Dr Danimir Mandić, Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Belgrade.

One of the highlights was the thought-provoking plenary session by the British Council on "The Future of English: A Global Perspective". Clare Sears delivered the introductory research lecture, sharing insights from the global Future of English research. This session explored key themes shaping the future of the English language and its role in our world. Following this, experts from the British Council provided various insights into what the future of the English language will look like, its implications for Serbia and the region, the critical role of teachers, and much more.

The conference served as a platform for teachers to connect, share insights, and explore new directions in English language teaching, reinforcing the community’s commitment to educational excellence and cultural understanding.
