We were delighted to have the opportunity to take part in this year’s Sharing One Language (SOL) Summer Retreat, an amazing in-service course for teachers of English, held in Sremski Karlovci from 11 to 18 August 2024.
The British Council provided scholarships for English language teachers in the region to participate in this international experience for teachers of English. Tatjana Slijepcevic, English Connects Lead for Wider Europe at the British Council, held a workshop on the topics of our Online Teacher Community and TeachingEnglish website and what they offer teachers.
Participating teachers had the opportunity to hear about our free Online Teacher Community and TeachingEnglish resources for professional development in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT) provided by the British Council. We had an amazing time discussing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities and challenges in the ELT community, as well as talking about experiences with various teaching methods, and sharing ideas and inspiration for the classroom!
The event served as a way for teachers to connect, establish cross-regional co-operation and continue their professional development.
