Facilitation vs teaching – techniques for more effective learning

Teaching is a lonely job. Often one teacher is in front of 30 students which makes it nearly impossible to effectively teach them. Or maybe not? This session will outline facilitation techniques that result in greater engagement of students, and deeper learning. Topics covered include student energy management, collective learning and the importance of fun - with practical examples that teachers can start using after the conference.

On with the old, if there is no new: Low-Tech Teaching

27. FEBRUARY AT 12.30 | HALL 'INSERT'

Reaping the benefits of technology in education can be hindered by lack of resources. From in-class exercises and lectures, over student assignments and projects, to testing and grading – the benefits of technology can be brought into the learning process with little more than a laptop, a projector, and an internet connection, used to inspire, motivate, and educate.

Jelena is experienced in designing short-term and semester-long courses and workshops on high-school and university levels, through which agile and lean methodologies are applied to learning different areas of science and philosophy in both non-formal educational contexts and as part of traditional degrees, with space for constant evaluation and updates embedded in the curriculum.
