Get to know our partners and co-organizers on journey of introducing ICT solutions to education in Western Balkans region. In parallel with our two-day conference, we also organised a fair where over 30 ICT companies and educational institutions presented the latest technological solutions in education that they developed or introduced to the market. The participants were able to visit their stands, try out interactive classroom solutions, find out how to use the internet for high quality teaching and see a micro:bit devices for coding.

Shortcuts to inclusion: video games for learning while on the move

This presentation will show how Xbox Kinect can be used in everyday and inclusive education. The focus will be on the personal and global experiences of using software meant for this console. The users lose their preconceptions, remain concentrated for a longer time and interested in the things the teacher is presenting during class. It also increases the cognitive and motor skills of its users.

Nenad is a defectologist working at a primary school. He worked with several NGOs including Amnesty International. Mihajlo is a philosophy and civil education professor at a school for pupils with damaged hearing. They share an interest for the use of ICT in the educational process and a desire for improving teaching outcomes.

Intelligent machines and the future of employment

The dramatic development of intelligent machines in the coming decades will cause significant economic and social changes. This lecture emphasizes the role of proper education in the process of successful adaptation to these factors. The selected technical and ethical aspects will be illustrated on MARKO, one of the first medical robots in the world which can independently conduct a conversation.

Milan Gnjatović is an assistant professor/lecturer at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. He earned his doctorate at the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Magdeburg, where he worked at the Institute for processing skills and languages. His field of research is the interaction between man and machine. He has published over fifty scientific papers and participated in several research projects.

In work we talk about how the acquaintance, communication and cooperation of teachers and students from three cities, Vršac, Belgrade and Leposavić can be the basis for the creation of a series of very unusual robots, managed remotely (through the Internet). With the use of ICT, Arduino platforms, Micro:Bit, as well as hardware and software development, this interesting project was created and the foundations for future projects were set.

Milan Petrović" school for primary and secondary education with "Milan Petrović" boarding school in Novi Sad is an institution that educates and provides additional support to children and persons with disabilities of all ages. The Centre for Assistive Technology operates within the school. At the fair they will present news and experiences in using new technologies in education, rehabilitation, and social life of their students and programme's beneficiaries.

She graduated at the Faculty of Mathematics in Belgrade. She works as a teacher of mathematics and informatics at the Architectural Technical School. She participated in award winning etwinning projects and other international projects. Co-authored several professional papers with us and abroad.
