Get to know our partners and co-organizers on journey of introducing ICT solutions to education in Western Balkans region. In parallel with our two-day conference, we also organised a fair where over 30 ICT companies and educational institutions presented the latest technological solutions in education that they developed or introduced to the market. The participants were able to visit their stands, try out interactive classroom solutions, find out how to use the internet for high quality teaching and see a micro:bit devices for coding.

Transfer of model course from classroom to VLE

This presentation addressed our experience in transferring a course from a “regular” university classroom to an online learning environment.  Development of an online course in the field of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology has been one of the work packages within the umbrella of the PHAR-IN project activities funded by EU Lifelong Learning Program. In nearly 20 years of professional career Nataša has been working as professor, corporate manager, entrepreneur, project manager, technology transfer and innovation consultant. Nataša has a background is in the pharmaceutical field: a pharmacist graduated from University of Belgrade, Serbia, with the PhD in (bio)pharmaceutics from Utrecht University, The Netherlands.

The use of web 2.0 in kindergarten

The presentation contains real life examples of the use of ICT in work with preschoolers in a bilingual group.

Nataša has a Bachelor degree in teaching and has presented her work at various conferences and teacher meetings. She has also finished a British Council CLIL online course and a seminary at the Cambridge University.  She is one of the e-twinning ambassadors for Serbia.

This presentation will explain what is a DAISY textbook, who is it made for and when was it first used. It will also explain who participated in its creation, how to find one of them, and how are they being used in Montenegro.

Nađa graduated at the Faculty of Filology in Belgrade. Since 2012 she has been working as an advisor in the Agency for books and teaching materials – Podgorica. She is a member of IAIMTE – International association for the improvement of mother tongue education, and has participated in this association's conference in Exeter in 2006.

A battle for knowledge: Introducing programming and robotics in primary schools

Battle for knowledge and KODigranje (coding + playing) are a donor campaign aimed at collecting funds for 5 Mbots per each of 1,250 primary schools in Serbia. Donated Mbots and trained children are included by KODigranje in the competition league where best trained primary school pupils compete. Nebojša Glišić, born in Banja Luka, graduated in international relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. He has been working at the Fond B92 Foundation since 2012 as a project coordinator. Specific interests: Youth activism, social networks, human rights and charity work.

The importance of school operating software for headmasters

The right leadership in schools includes obtaining all necessary information from all participants in the educational process. Task of the school operating system is to help the teaching staff with their work and to eliminate their resistance to using it. On the other hand it generates the data that guides and improves the decisions of the headmaster.

Nebojša has worked in education for 14 years as a professor of physics in four schools that cover various educational profiles. Over a thousand students have graduated from the School of mathematics, physics and computer technologies Galileo. Since 2000, his main activities include creation, development and implementation of information systems for schools. The solution through which the whole experience is implemented is GALIS.

This presentation introduced the Wikistudent project implemented by the Wikimedia Serbia for a number of years already. Wikistudent is a project enabling free of charge student training for the use and editing of Wikipedia through creation of free content in scope of this and other Wiki projects. Nebojša Ratković has a Bachelor Degree in Political Sciences for international politics. He has been working in civil sector since 2010 on projects focusing on youth education. Since August 2016 he is working with Wikimedia Serbia in the position of educational programme manager where he works on promotion of new technologies in secondary schools and higher education institutions, focused on Wikipedia.

Nebojša Ratković is a graduated International politics. He has been working in the non-governmental sector since 2010, mostly on projects related to youth education. He started working in Wikimedia in August 2016 as an educational program manager where he works on promoting new technologies in high school and higher education institutions, with a focus on Wikipedia.

Educational potential of Wikipedia

The presentation is about Wikipedia as means of learning in faculty classrooms. It will focus on its educational potential in Serbia, in the context of traditional education, which is under the increasing influence of ICT. It will present its practical application in teaching, and it will show how Wikipedia as a tool has means to improve students' skills, to adopt educational goals and to enhance cooperation on a student-teacher relationship.

Neil has extensive experience in area of technology supported learning. He was executive Director at Becta, the British Educational and Communications Technology Agency and has developed and led the implementation of the UK education ministry’s e-strategy, created support services for schools and head teachers, engaged the industry in supporting schools and has established the research programme for Becta.
