Get to know our partners and co-organizers on journey of introducing ICT solutions to education in Western Balkans region. In parallel with our two-day conference, we also organised a fair where over 30 ICT companies and educational institutions presented the latest technological solutions in education that they developed or introduced to the market. The participants were able to visit their stands, try out interactive classroom solutions, find out how to use the internet for high quality teaching and see a micro:bit devices for coding.

Co-founder and director of SEECult.org

Vesna graduated journalism at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade in 1999. She has been a journalist since 1992, first in ‘Student’ newspapers and later in Tanjug, FoNet and Beta news agencies. She was a correspondent for Reporters without borders in Serbia and Montenegro. She also participated in many professional development programmes. Since the late 90s she has been concentrated on the internet.

She is one of the founders and director of an NGO and an internet portal dedicated to the culture of Eastern Europe SEEcult.org. She is a co-author and coordinator of various projects in the areas of culture and cultural policy, art and media. She is a member of the Independent journalists' association of Serbia (NUNS) and the Association of applied arts artists and designers of Serbia (ULUPUDS).

This presentation will showcase the needs and specific characteristics of agricultural education and the contributions of higher education to the professional development of agricultural experts. 

Vesna is a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade. She holds lectures connected to Zoology, and writes scientific materials about the animal biology and the teaching methodology in higher education. She is the leader for the CaSA TEMPUS project that created NaRA - National Repository for Agricultural Education.

Digital educational materials in Serbian language and literature

The lecture gives a brief introduction into online education and presents the results of published students' tests from the primary school '20 oktobar'. It describes the process of preparing digital educational content in Serbian language for students from 5th to 8th grade. The lecture includes a review of the specific application areas of digital educational content for children who have difficulties in following regular classes.

Vesna has graduated from the Faculty of Philology in 1987, on Yugoslav literature department,  literary publicist. After graduation she began working in the primary school 'Đuro Strugar' and then in primary school '20. oktobar', where she still works as a professor of Serbian language.

Smart board for smart heads

Violeta and Mira will talk about positive experiences in the use of interactive boards in classes, like the increased activity of pupils in the teaching process, improved content and teaching methods diversity, easier understanding of complicated assignments owing to clearer, more dynamic and more efficient presentations, development of pupils’ digital skills, improved creativity and motivation for learning. Mira and Violeta have been friends and colleagues for years working in primary school for over three decades. In working and spending time with children, they like to play and learn with them and from them. This is why new technologies take an important place in the classroom. By using them they are opening windows to a big web world.

Technologically enhanced knowledge evaluation

Presentation deals with experiences of modern software technologies application in the process of students’ knowledge evaluation. Two courses from University practice are used as examples in the presentation. It also introduces recommendations regarding the use of different software applications in the technologically advanced knowledge evaluation process, starting from the known pedagogical theories to experiences from classes. Vladan Devedžić is a professor of programming and software engineering at the Faculty of Organisational Sciences in Belgrade. From the professional and research aspect, he's been engaged in educational technologies and software application in education since 1990s. He has coordinated and participated in many international and national projects in this area, with the major number of publications also pertaining to these areas.

Technologies: From the hieroglyph to the virtual reality

The presentation highlights important discoveries for the development of education and schooling. From cave paintings, hieroglyphs and clay tiles through letters, paper and press to radio, television, computers, the Internet, smart phones, virtual reality. The parallels were attempted to examine the importance and role of today's new technologies in education as well as anticipate future events.
