In agriculture, there is a growing use of technology, ranging from temperature control in greenhouses and irrigation to the choice of healthy options that are grown as naturally as possible. However, can we also have our own small greenhouses in urban areas and grow our healthy food on the terraces in the apartments?

The students of the Stefan Nemanja elementary school in Niš, Dimitrije and Vuk, were thinking about these big ideas. They thought about how to eradicate hunger. They thought about how we can all have healthy food, maybe even at home. Not only did they think and research, they also made a prototype of a small greenhouse powered by a micro:bit.

Dimitrije and Vuk, won the third prize in the Coding Challenge 2020 held in Niš. See in the video below what their greenhouse looked like.
