Get to know our partners and co-organizers on journey of introducing ICT solutions to education in Western Balkans region. In parallel with our two-day conference, we also organised a fair where over 30 ICT companies and educational institutions presented the latest technological solutions in education that they developed or introduced to the market. The participants were able to visit their stands, try out interactive classroom solutions, find out how to use the internet for high quality teaching and see a micro:bit devices for coding.

Challenges and possibilities of using new technologies

The aim of this lecture is to point out the importance of using ICT in work with children and in professional employee development, the importance of strategic digital space planning in preschool teaching and education, and to discus how and when technology can be applied in order to improve work quality and to define how digital technologies can be used in a kindergarden.

Slavica has 15 years of working experience in the educational system and teaching. She hase participated in a large number of expert gatherings and advanced training programmes. She has also worked on 8 projects in the area of teaching and education. She is a member of the Board of directors of Pedagogic society of Serbia and a member of Association of expert associates and associates of preschool institutions of Serbia.

Slavko Ilić

Slavko has been working in Sixsentix as a test consultant for the last two years. His love towards IT and desire to constantly learn and apply new knowledge contributed to the success of his blog ITkutak for the past eight years. His experience and skills come from cooperating with a large number of companies and organisations and this is also where his inspiration for the use of new technologies comes from. He is currently a part of the team working on an educational game for learning Serbian language 'Vučilo, a valley of magical words'.

 Slađana Galuška was working as a teacher of Serbian and English language in several elementary schools and high-schools and from 2003 she was working as a librarian in “Milorad Mića Marković” elementary school in Mala Ivanča. She is a co-author of “Oštro Perce” project. She was awarded five times on the “Digitalni čas” competition.

PRESENTATION

From using to creating information 

Cooperation of a teacher of Serbian language and a school librarian in realisation of this project has contributed to the seventh graders development of creativity who, from the users of information, become creators of information. During their classes in the school library, they are working on assignments in e-form, getting to know how to operate Wix programme and they are presenting the progress.

Bachelor of science - Chemist, 1995, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Niš. Employed at the Svetozar Marković gymnasium. In addition to regular classes in mathematics, social linguistics and work in specialized departments, a professor of chemistry in English in bilingual teaching. Presented a large number of papers, such as "examples of good practice" in Serbia and abroad.

Program 'Computer in the preschooler's world' is a process of active construction and reconstruction of knowledge. With the help of computers we encourage all-round personality development and at the same time work on raising awareness of parents about the importance of early introduction of children to the world of computers, based on scientific facts.

Biljana has worked as a teacher at the Medical school as well as a headteacher at the 'Nata Veljković' kindergarten where she now works as a preschool teacher. She holds a teaching title in several pedagogical and medical fields. She is also the author of several published papers in the field of preschool education. She is a member of many associations at the regional and national levels.

Snežana is a Serbian language and literature professor. In order to modernize education, encourage students to read more, and make interpreting of Migrations interesting for students, she has developed special tasks that encouraged them to research and read, to think criticaly, to collaborate and be creative. Their works are installed on the wiki page creating a knowledge base.

Don't be a Miser in ICT

ICT enabled teachers and students of the Secondary Technical School in Sombor and Economics and Trade school in Kula to connect, work together, communicate and create a knowledge base (wiki-page 'Milerologists' and a blog 'Don't be miser') and a video debate 'For and against Harpagon' which rounded up the project 'Don't be a Miser' and work on the research of Moliere's work.

Snežana is a teacher at the Secondary Technical School in Sombor while Aleksandra works at the Economics and Trade school in Kula.

She has been working as a TV journalist at Radio and Television Montenegro (national public service broadcaster) since 1998. She started covering science and education in 2007. She fosters innovative education. Last year she took part in New Technologies in Education media project and discovered the growth mindset concept while filming documentary in London.

 The use of software tools like Pixto, Storyboard, Bitstrips can contribute to individual and creative work of students with autism, coping with challenging maths classes and establishing better communication with all students in the class.

Snežana graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics in Belgrade and is currently working in education. She authored traditional quizzes realised with members of the "Kefalica” section she started in 2012. Founder of the awarded "Matiš” magazine. Participated in the 8th Science Festival in Belgrade. Author of two projects of the Center for Promotion of Science. Participant in many awarded eTwinning projects.
