Get to know our partners and co-organizers on journey of introducing ICT solutions to education in Western Balkans region. In parallel with our two-day conference, we also organised a fair where over 30 ICT companies and educational institutions presented the latest technological solutions in education that they developed or introduced to the market. The participants were able to visit their stands, try out interactive classroom solutions, find out how to use the internet for high quality teaching and see a micro:bit devices for coding.

Online learning with the British Council

Rob has worked as an English language teacher, trainer and writer for over 20 years, mainly in Europe. He recently spent several years working in the British Council’s global Teacher Development team, supporting teacher education initiatives around the world, particularly those online. Rob now works as a freelance writer and trainer, with recent projects including the creation of a MOOC for Arabic-speaking learners of English. 

A British Council/FutureLearn MOOC - Understanding IELTS - released in 2015 attracted over 700,000 enrolments in its two runs, making it one of the most successful MOOCs yet. It is a relatively recent development at the heart of the British Council’s work online, but it has been exploiting technologies to support the learning, teaching and assessment of English for some time.

Robots in Schools

Computer programming is now part of the primary school curriculum in most European countries, and teachers are looking for ways to bring it to life. Edbot is the world's first humanoid robot that speaks Scratch, the most popular programming language in primary schools. Programming with Edbot gives children real joy and the desire to learn more.

Multifaceted science

Using this application we have linked history and physics and students of different age groups. The topic given to the students was “Multifaceted Science”. Their task was to demonstrate the work of a scientist, reflecting on political, social and cultural circumstances, same as on the influence of scientific discovery on economic changes. This collaborative tool enables teachers to monitor the work of their students, detect and correct potential errors. Sanja is a teacher at the Primary School “Branislav Nušić”. She was a lecturer at international STEM teacher conference in Brussels “Scientix” 2014 . Ranked first in the competition “Exemplary Class” in 2015. Ljiljana is a reviewer of history textbook for 8th grade; two published papers in the “Exemplary Class” collection. Member of the European Association of Serbian teachers.

The use of this app enables children with developmental difficulties to learn independently in accordance with their own needs and interests. 

Sanja is a defectologist specialised in rehabilitation. In her daily work with children she uses ICT so that they could learn to use computer on their own and organise their free time.

E-LEARNING-DOSITEJ PROJECT IN REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

Being aware of various environment specific factors that influence education transformation process, they wanted to present the challenges and the results of LANACO’s education projects, with special emphasis on Dositej project, that introduces "one on one" learning model in our classrooms based on specially designed Intel® Classmate PCs for students.

Sanja Sablić has been working in Lanaco since 2006 as a manager of a new sector called ’IT Solutions and Education’. From 2009 she worked on various projects in this area resulting in her leadership of the ‘Dositej – eLearning based on the 1:1 model’. As a system engineer she has been working as a Microsoft Certified Trainer since 2005.
